Neighbourhood description
The Glendorgal estate is the site of the former Glendorgal hotel on its own private headland perched between two popular beaches.

The house is one of 15 privately owned self catering holiday properties alongside the hotel stretching along the cliff tops.

The house directly overlooks Porth Beach from the lounge and balcony. At high tide the beach can be accessed via steps from the former hotel. If the tide is high enough, you can walk all the way to Watergate Bay along the beach.

At low tide, the bay is filled with crystal clear waters and sheltered in such a way that makes it popular for many water sports like kayaking and diving. Porth beach is popular with families as it is one of the safer beaches and lifeguards are present.

On the other side of the headland you will find Lusty Glaze beach, voted the best beach in the UK 2017 by the Sunday Times. Privately owned and accessed by 133 steps, you will find the most amazing restaurant and beach bar. As the bay is west facing you can sit and enjoy fantastic sunsets whilst watching an acoustic performance known as 'sundowner sessions' or in the winter it's an equally popular location for a 'woodburner session' in the restaurant.

Beyond Lusty Glaze you can walk across the Barrowfields with views over to the Headland Hotel next to Fistral beach. A 15 walk will get you to all the amenities of Newquay including supermarkets, restaurants and shops.

The house is a perfect distance to be accessible to Newquay whilst remaining in its own tranquil corner and away from any disturbances. That said if you want to limit your exposure to noisy crowds, you should avoid the weekend of the Boardmasters festival which takes place in Watergate Bay and throughout Newquay usually in early August.
